Clearling Jaji and Ishira etchings

One thing I really like about etching is that it can be repeated in small doses—you can give multiple prints away, yet they are still original art. This was why to thank my friends who were kind enough to beta read early drafts of The Dragon Prince while I was turning it in for my English thesis, I made two small etchings. While I gave away the plain versions, I took a chance to practice water coloring them, as seen here. These were very limited edition—I only printed 10 of each—and sadly, the plates have since been ruined, and therefore they are staying limited edition.

Betta lions, sea tigers, and Rottiflies, oh my!

This is a series of pieces I did as my final for Drawing 100. I enjoy working with prismacolor markers and pencils, though there is the issue of light-fastness:  sadly, the Betta fish lions are no longer purple and have since faded to pink over the years.

One thing I absolutely love is no matter who it is, from professional artist to a classroom full of children, the reaction to”Rottiefly” is always, “AWWWWWW!”
